Jean Harlow
Greta Garbo by Edward Steichen
I don't know who the women on the ends are, but I'm pretty sure the one in the middle is Judy Garland
Luise Rainer by Lazlo Willinger
Sorry for the hurricane break. I was stuck in Maine for two days with no power and lots of downed trees. But now I'm home and happy to be back in the land of running water and cold beer.
Last week I went antique shopping around the North Shore and while I didn't find any furniture, I did stumble upon some very cool photographs of old movie stars. My favorite has to be the Steichen portrait of Greta Garbo. For my money you just can't get a better actress than Greta. Famous for being a loner, she often repeated some variation of "I want to be alone" in her movies, with The Grand Hotel being the first.
Ahhhh so good! Just look at that dress! Hollywood, you can have your Jessica Albas and Jennifer Anistons. Just give me Greta Garbo.
