Inspiration: Dario Argento's Suspiria

Last month I attended a screening of Suspiria at 17Cox.  As a hater of the horror genre, I was dubious.  But WOW!  I was completely blown away.  Suspiria is what I like to call "photographer porn".  The lighting is stunning!  Argento not only understands the mechanics of light but the emotion, and he uses that to his advantage.  It's a character in and of itself.  Pulses of red, green, blue, and yellow, paired with the fantastic score and cinematography create a fast paced, heart pounding adventure. Watch it!  I promise you will not be disappointed.

Side note: Why are ballet movies always dark? Suspiria, Black Swan, the Red Shoes... all amazingly dark dance movies.  I think maybe the extreme dedication and physical stress of becoming a prima ballerina are a breeding ground for disfunction.  All reasons that I'm glad I'm a photographer :)

Mine too! It's so fantastic. Have you seen Suspiria? You know for me to recommend a horror film it has to be damned good in order to offset my blood and gore phobia
