Do you have a favorite restaurant? I do. It's J's Oyster. If I had to pick what to eat for my last meal, it'd be my Dad's spaghetti sauce and everything off of the menu at J's. Owned and operated by woman since it opened in the 1970s, J's is a rare jewel. It's the type of place that refuses to change. I've been going there for 4 years and haven't seen a single change in the menu, and I imagine it's been that way since the very beginning. It's always jammed packed and I've met some truly great people there. In fact, I don't think I've ever met someone I didn't like while dining at J's. It's probably because the food is so good that it's impossible to be an asshole while eating it. They should send a plate to Sarah Palin.

If you're ever in Portland, you must check out Encore. Hands down the best vintage shop I've ever been in (and I've been in A LOT of them). Lots of amazing clothes, hats, jewelry, purses... literally everything you could imagine, safety stowed away in these incredible glass cases. It's owned by a very nice woman named Rita. She was my type of lady. She told us all about the history of the space (it used to be a jewelry store, hence the wall of cases) and how she incorporated it into her shop (Rita was supposed to get rid of the cases when she moved in, but she said she just couldn't. They were too beautiful and unique. I think she made the right decision).
It's times like these that I wish I was a gazillionaire and could buy everything in the entire store

Last night I had some of the best seafood of my life. I was visiting friends in Portland, ME, and we decided to go to J's for steamers and oysters. I was blown away. Hands down the best steamers I've ever had. And it turns out Anthony Bourdain did a segment there!

Watching that is making me want to go back already. Road trip!

A few weeks ago I ran out of film while in Maine and bought some at Walgreens. Now I'm no film snob (Usually my motto is if it needs to be refrigerated, it'll get the job done. Don't care who makes it. There are few things I hate more than a Fuji/Kodak or similarly a Nikon/Canon debate), but I didn't have high expectations. I've since shot and developed 4 rolls of it, and I gotta say, I'm kinda digging the Walgreens brand! Muted colors, dream like blurs... it's fab. And more importantly, it's hella cheap
